It's difficult to give an exact number of industries in Gujarat as the state has a diverse range of industries, including both large- and small-scale industries. However, according to the Department of Industries and Mines, Government of Gujarat, as of 2020, there are over 3.5 lakh registered MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in the state. This includes industries in sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, textiles, food processing, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, among others. Additionally, Gujarat is also home to several large industries in sectors such as petrochemicals, automobile manufacturing, and power generation, among others. So, the actual number of industries in Gujarat would be quite substantial.
